Mary Sanders, PhD

Dr. Sanders is a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders with adolescents, adults, and families.  She is a Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University Medical Center in the Psychiatry Department where she has provided clinical care, supervised fellows and interns and taught for 28 years.  She is also the Program Director for the Comprehensive Care Unit (CCP) at Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.  The CCP is a medical unit, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Dr. Sanders has presented nationally and written book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on the subject of eating disorder assessment and treatment.

Dr. Sanders provides personalized treatment based on her experience and training in Family-Based Therapy (FBT) as well as Narrative therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness approaches.
