About Our Practice
We are dedicated to providing our patients and their families with state of the art, compassionate medical care. We understand the fear, stress and pressures faced by people with eating disorders, their parents and spouses. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and support you need to get through this difficult time.
The philosophy of our practice is that we are a team working together for our patients’ recovery. We are committed to providing our patients with state-of the-art medical care and assuring that their treatment team is working in an integrated fashion. Appointments are scheduled so that you never feel rushed and always have adequate time to have all of your questions answered and concerns addressed.
Our practice consists of a three-pronged integrated approach to eating disorder treatment.
After a thorough medical intake examination, one of our physicians will closely monitor your medical condition. At each visit, your doctor will check your vital signs, perform a thorough medical examination, and order any necessary tests. Your doctor will then sit down with you, answer all of your questions and address any concerns that you might have.
Team Compilation and Coordination
In addition to our medical doctors, the Carlton Clinic team includes a dietitian and a psychiatrist. We also utilize our extensive network of local dietitians, therapists, and psychiatrists in order to build a treatment team tailored to your unique needs. Your doctor will act as the “team coordinator”. He or she will be in contact with each treatment team member after every office visit (or more frequently if needed) and get input on how they feel things are progressing, any problems that need to be addressed, and goals for the next week and beyond.
Parent and Family Support and Coaching
Because we understand how crucial family support is, our providers are always available to sit down with the patient’s parents, spouse, or other family members to address all of their questions and concerns. However, we are aware that questions and concerns do not just occur during business hours. Therefore, your doctor will be available to you by pager 24-hours a day.
